Hallowe’en was a bust. The rumors are true. There is no Hallowe’en in France. If you want to see it you have to go to Euro Disney for the annual party that they throw. In Paris the biggest thing that I saw was that some of the Sunday roller-bladers had dressed up in costume. I saw maybe one store window with orange and black and scary things. Pffft. The weather has become quite unpredictable. Yesterday was one of the gloomiest days I had seen here. Sitting inside, it felt like twilight all day. I began to understand why the ancient paintings of interiors are so dark. And remember that this is with those big huge French windows. Surprisingly this morning when I opened the shutters, I found intense bright sunshine. But it is cold!Today is another religious holiday here, All Saint’s Day. Everything is closed. We are also already in the middle of the first of the school holidays of 10 days. That started the 26th of Oct. and the student’s return the 6th of Nov. Nice.
