Still can't sleep right and getting frustrated. I am not the kind of person who likes to be up at odd hours. I prefer a good solid run through. C'est la vie.

I went over to the 16th arrondisement (district of Paris) today to get my bank account in motion and on the way I had another “I am here” moment. I was on the metro in a section that was above ground crossing the Seine and seeing the Eiffel Tour up close and personal. It was incredible.
I found my bank and it was super tiny and personal. The 16th by the way is like saying Beverly
Hills. They were very kind to me at the bank even though my French sucked. None of that French behavior that one here's about. In fact, I haven't experienced it yet. Everyone has been super kind and helpful to me.

On the way home I walked past the Eiffel Tour. It really is magnificent with its lace work of iron. Back on the metro and to my own neighborhood. Then I had to get a few errands done, one of which was to get some melatonin to help me reset my body clock as I forgot to get it before I left. Guess what? It is "interdite" here, forbidden.
Aargh. Little surprises around every corner. So I got a couple of bits of food and a novel in French and called it a day. I ate my "dejeuner" (lunch) and sat down to the computer.

It snowed last night enough to leave some traces on the ground in sunless corners and on some cars that hadn't moved. I am watching a few more flakes fall as
I write.

I still can't sleep through the night but I did sleep for 11 hours last night. I was shocked when I woke up and it was noon. I feel really disoriented. I had a list of things to do but I just feel like the day is gone. Hey but at least I don't feel tired too.

A lot of things are about the same price here as there but beef is not. Beef can be quite a bit more. I am speaking of prices of groceries only. Butter is about half the price so maybe that helps. When you can catch the markets, the prices are a slight bit less.
Books seem to be close in price. I bought a novel in
French to try my hand at and the paperback was 6.10€.
That is about $7.50 so not bad.

I think I will try to get out of the house now.
